As part of its community outreach, ICNE provides the marriage services

in accordance with the Islamic code of marriage and the State regulations.

This service is offered FREE of charge. Before requesting it, however, the applicant must first obtain a “Marriage License” from the City/Town Hall of his/her residence in the State.

For example, in the State of Massachusetts the applicant should take the following steps:

Marriage Requirements

1. Both parties (prospective husband and wife) go to the Clerk’s office in person in the respective City/Town Hall with proof of date of birth(Birth Certificate, Passport, Driver’s License, or High School Diploma). The clerk’s office will have the parties fill out a simple form. Pay the required “fee” ($25 – $45). Wait for a period of three days. Go back to the Clerk’s office (anyone of the parties) and pick up the marriage license.

2. Contact any Justice of the Peace of choice for the wedding ceremony arrangement. Present the license to the Justice of the Peace who will then perform the ceremony. The Justice of the Peace will sign the license and mail it directly to the Clerk’s office.
